How to enable 2FA for Memoresa
Want to follow this guide on your phone?
The best way to manage all your 2FA accounts is to use the Authy app. It enables you to have a single mobile app for all your 2FA accounts and you can sync them across multiple devices, even accessing them on the desktop. Install Authy on your device by searching for it in your device’s app store.
Important: If any sites prompt you to use Google Authenticator for two-factor authentication, note that you can always substitute the Authy 2FA app instead. Although they work in similar ways, Authy is more feature-rich and allows for multi-device syncing, cloud-backups, and easier account recovery should you change or lose your phone or device. Read more information on the features of Authy here.
When logged into your memoresa account, click on your user name on the right of the upper navigation bar. Then click “Security.”
On the Security Settings page, enable 2-Factor Authentication using the slider as shown below.
Once you have activated the 2-Factor Authentication. you will be presented with a “personal secret” as well as a QR-code which you will need to capture with your Authy app. Keep this window open as you reach for your Authy-enabled device.
To capture the QR code, launch Authy on your device. Click ‘Add Account’ at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be prompted to hold your phone up to your computer to ‘Scan QR Code’ and capture the QR code provided by memoresa.
Once the QR code is captured, Authy will display your memoresa account with the appropriate icon. If you desire you can also change the logo or the nickname you give the account right on the Authy app. When ready, click ‘Save’.
From now on Authy will generate a new code every 30 seconds for your memoresa account. Type this code into the verification code field on the memoresa site to finish the 2FA activation process.
Next you will see a list of backup codes which you can use to restore your account in case that you lost your 2FA device. Please store these codes to a secure place and keep them private!
Now when you log in to your account again…
You will be prompted for a 6-digit 2FA token which Authy generates for you.
And if you really lost your device and have not enabled Authy backups, simply use one of your backup codes to restore your account!
